“Sissy and her team cared for my grandparents for over 10 years. My Grandma hired Sissy after meeting her as a nurse during a hospital stay, to relieve my grandpa after my grandma was diagnosed with cancer. At first just to relieve grandpa to go golfing and eventually becoming more full time as Sissy and her team helped my grandma transition from this life in 2017. Truthfully, they helped our whole family, especially my grandpa after losing his love of over 60 years. My Grandma made Sissy promise she would keep an eye on grandpa after she was gone. Sissy held up that promise, above and beyond what any of us expected. Our family lives across the country and it brought us all peace knowing grandpa, who now lived alone, had someone checking in with him every week. While Sissy respected my grandpa’s dignity and privacy, she immediately reached out to the family when she realized in 2024 that his health was declining, allowing us to help him make hard medical decisions for a fiercely independent, aging man. Over the years, Sissy became family and the person grandpa trusted most. She helped us navigate hard choices with grandpa, like no longer driving and accepting more full time care, which grandpa was not happy about. I don’t know if we could have done it without the compassion, trust and love that Sissy earned from my grandpa, simply because of who she is as a human and caretaker. Sissy and her team were with my grandpa full time as his health declined, keeping in constant contact with the family, fully transparent about what stage we were in, helping grandpa with all of his medical needs from in-home care to doctors appointments and specialists. Honored when grandpa decided he didn’t want to fight for his health anymore, he just wanted peace until he could be with grandma again, Sissy and her team helped our family navigate honoring grandpa’s decisions. They helped us navigate hospice and all things that come with end of life.
They embraced us all as family as our family spent weeks at grandpa’s house with her and her team in grandpa’s last months. Sissy was there until grandpa transitioned, just as she promised grandma. They helped us through all of the messy emotions that come with saying goodbye. I truly can’t say enough about how they helped the experience be as beautiful and peaceful as possible.
Our family is forever grateful for Sissy and her team. We still keep in touch and Sissy has truly become part of our family. Sissy not only held up her promise to grandma, she went above and beyond, because that is the compassionate and caring person she is. Truly a gem in this world.”
